Do you know what people did in the old days when they had secrets they didn't want to share? They'd climb a mountain, find a tree, carve a hole in it, whisper the secret into the hole and cover it up with mud. That way, nobody else would ever learn the secret...

Hi, i'm Matteo,
I moved to Australia in 2010 to start a post-grad course in Melbourne, fell in love with the city and the people and decided to stay.
Currently working as scientist at the university, I enjoy my work thoroughly and I like to spend time doing lots of different sports and activity also thanks to the wide network of queer and gay team sports available in Melbourne.
I came out when I was 17 and since then the road has been pretty bumpy with my parents that still struggle with coming to terms with my sexuality. I moved to a different city when I started university at 18 and lucky enough, I had a solid group of friends that helped me out when I was feeling down and I talk to when I needed some advice.
My friends were without any doubt the variable that allowed me to learn how to live my life in full, listening to me feelings and not to what people told me was right or wrong. Today still, despite I moved again city and continent, I value my old and new friends as the best thing I can invest time and energies into so it is not new to spend a lot of my spare time with them.
When I am not playing sport or spending time with my friends (often both at the same time), I enjoy listening to music, playing video games (LoL) or when good weather allows it, hiking.
I'm always up for a chat with people, it is something I feel at ease with and I will look forward to hear your story! 🙂
